Integration with Dataverse bidirectional Sync Error between BC Customer and D365 Account

I'm in the beginning stages of integrating Business Central and Dataverse.

I've got the OOB sync setup only and already (to Dataverse, not the "Sales" setup yet), when I made one change, the next sync failed.

This is the error:

Cannot update a record in the Dataverse Account table. The mapping between Phone No. field on the Customer table and the Main Phone field on the Dataverse Account table is bi-directional, and one or both values have changed since the last synchronization.

All I did was add a missing phone number to the customer record in BC.

Help?  Anyone?  Thanks in advance!

    1. Verify that the field mapping for Phone No. and Main Phone between BC and Dataverse is correctly configured. You might want to adjust the mapping from bi-directional to single-directional (from BC to Dataverse or Dataverse to BC) to avoid conflicts

    2. Also check if Main Phone is not conflicting with changes made in VC. You can delete the manually and see if its works

    Thanks, Ramesh

I changed it to sync from BC to Dataverse for Accounts and the phone number pushed and it worked.  I do need it to work bidirectionally though and will have to figure that out.  Most data entry is in Dataverse for our company.  Thank you for the advice to troubleshoot.  Still need to figure out what is really wrong.

    Hi, good day
As our colleague suggests, you could try resetting to the initial settings.

I reset it to default and get the same behavior on a different test record.  Kind of defeats the purpose of bidirectional if it fails out of the box.
