Set Sales Person Code automatically on Sales Order

Good morning!

I would like to know, is it possible to have the sales person code automatically filled in when the sales person opens a new sales order?

I see that it is possible to auto populate the sales person responsible for the customer as set on the customer card, and that this can be changed if the current sales person is different to that.

But we would like as standard to auto populate the sales person code of the current user, not the sales person on the customer card

Thank you for any advice!

Set Sales Person Code automatically on Sales Order
    Dear Zhu and Narang

    Thank you for your answers!
In fact this did not solve my problem; i suspect that some other customisation is in place stopping this from working correctly.

But i marked them as correct as i suspect these answers can help other users.

    Many thanks!

Hi, NAV_with_Narang is right, this does not require customization.
I have done a simple test in BC before, I hope it will help you too.

Dynamics 365 Business Central: Automatically assign a Salesperson Code/Purchaser Code when orders created by multiple users (Individual Salespers./Purch. Code)

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

    hi

you should with a development comment this function in the SAles Header table

in this function, as you can see, the sales person code linked to the customer is retrieved, and if it is different from the one automatically entered from the user setup table, it is replaced or reset to Blank if the customer does not have a sales person code set

RE: Set Sales Person Code automatically on Sales Order

Hi Lovisa LH - Yes what you are asking is possible OOTB. Follow the steps:

    1. Login to BC/NAV and search User Setup

    2. Fill this table with all the users by using the drop down from the first column

    3. You'll find a column named "Salesperson Code". Make sure to select a salesperson against each user and then exit the page

    4. Now create a new sales order. The Salesperson which you may have selected near your/current login user name, will now auto-populate once the customer details are filled in

Basically by performing the above steps, you are assisting the system identify which salesperson corresponds to which login userID.

    Hope it helps
