How does D365 Calculate Vendor On time performance

Posted on by 10

I am new to the D365 community and I am trying to understand how it calculates vendor on time delivery.   We are presenting KPI's on vendor performance and have conflicting views on how this works and the PO dates fields to manage.

Thanks in advance,

Don

    Hy again,

there is one more further precalculated value available:

[PRECISION OF RECEIPT BASED ON REQUESTED DELIVERY DATE ON FIRST CONFIRMATION]

which is calculated to early, on time or late.

    Hy,

    I would take

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL DAYS FROM FIRST CONFIRMATION TO FIRST RECEIPT]

    for your calculation.

Of course all date fields (receipt date, confirmation date, ...) are available as raw data so you can create your own calculation.

Thank you for your response.  Is there simple layman’s explanation, such as:   Receipt Date minus Original Confirmation Date or it’s calculated as Receipt Date minus Confirmation Date.   Are there other factors with PO dates and actual receipt date that add to the results?

    Thanks,

    Don

RE: How does D365 Calculate Vendor On time performance

    Hy Drich,

there are several ways to measure Vendor performance.

    OOB are these reports available:

    - supply performance, which shows average lead time and delay days per Vendor

    - Vendor delivery performance on receipt, shoas also percentage of late and on time

For more detailed Vendor performance analytics I would prefer to work with the purchase cube which can be used with PowerBI. Here are multiple measures defined for specific use cases for order confirmation and product receipt performance.

These are the available measures for Purchase order and receipts:

    [PURCHASELINETOTALDAYSFROMFIRSTCONFIRMATIONTORECEIVED]
    [PURCHASELINETOTALDAYSFROMFIRSTREQUESTEDDELIVERYDATETORECEIVED]
    [PURCHASELINETOTALNUMBEROFPRODUCTRECEIPTS
    [PURCHASELINETOTALNUMBEROFCONFIRMATIONSBYPURCHASELINE]
    [PURCHASELINETOTALDAYSFROMFIRSTCONFIRMATIONTOFIRSTRECEIPT]
    [PURCHASELINETOTALDAYSFROMFIRSTRECEIPTTORECEIVED]
    [PURCHASELINETOTALDAYSFROMFIRSTCONFIRMATIONTODELIVERYDATEISCONFIRMED]
    [PRECISIONOFRECEIPTBASEDONREQUESTEDDELIVERYDATEONFIRSTCONFIRMATION]

This is the reader friendly version of the measures:

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL DAYS FROM FIRST CONFIRMATION TO RECEIVED]

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL DAYS FROM FIRST REQUESTED DELIVERY DATE TO RECEIVED]

    [PURCHASELINE TOTA LNUMBER OF PRODUCTRECEIPTS]

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL NUMBER OF CONFIRMATIONS BY PURCHASELINE]

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL DAYS FROM FIRST CONFIRMATION TO FIRST RECEIPT]

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL DAYS FROM FIRST RECEIPT TO RECEIVED]

[PURCHASELINE TOTAL DAYS FROM FIRST CONFIRMATION TO DELIVERY DATE IS CONFIRMED]

[PRECISION OF RECEIPT BASED ON REQUESTED DELIVERY DATE ON FIRST CONFIRMATION]

For analytics this measures can be combined with al lot of dimensions from Vendor, items, procurement category, ....
