GST Prod. Posting Group issue in GL Account

Hi Team,

I am encountering an error while attempting to change the GST Product Posting Group in GL Account 41011. The error message indicates that this GL Account is already in use with Sales Order SO21-00045. However, the user does not intend to post this Sales Order at the moment. Is there an alternative solution to make this change without completing the posting of the Sales Order?
 
Error:
 
You cannot change GST Prod. Posting Group on account 41011 while Sales Header: Order,SO21-00045 is pending prepayment.

    Just wondering if it is complaining because the status of the order is pending prepayment, have you tried to credit that and then change the G/L account?

    No, the user does not want to post the credit memo. There is another issue as well. Last year, they posted invoices for some prepayment-related sales orders manually from the sales invoice page. Now, these sales orders still only show as shipped and not invoiced.
