All:

Is there a way to make it so the AA window that pops up during a transaction entry doesn't pop-up every time? Or is it just that if the GL Account is linked to AA it will always cause a trigger?

This will always trigger untill & unless it is not linked with GL Account. Infact this is use for analysis purpose and if you don't want any then please unmark its link.

Thank you for your response; I appreciate it.

The answer may be the same, and I believe it will be, but please allow me to clarify.

The client realizes that AA is used for analysis purposes and does indeed want to use it. In fact, they are using 7 Transaction Dimensions on any given transaction.

The issue they're experiencing is twofold.

Scenario One

The client may want to input transactions using an Account that is linked to AA but not necessarily want to attach AA information everytime. In this scenario, the client would like it if the pop-up would not trigger, but rather they choose whether or not to go to the Analytical Payables Transaction Entry screen.

Scenario Two

When the client is doing long transaction entries, for example a Journal Entry, the Analytical Payables Transaction Entry screen pops up for every GL. For ease and speed of data entry, again they want to choose when that window pops up. As it is right now, it pops up for every GL Account in the JE and is very time consuming to close the window in order to enter another line into the JE.

I don't believe there's a way to change this behavior within GP itself, as you mention, but I was wondering if there was some way to modify this behavior via SQL - perhaps disabling the trigger.

Hi Todd.

A liitle work around I have found.

The AA detail files have a field that says if the AA window was previously open or not.

I have created a trigger on the table to set this field to always yes on the inserts and the window does not open unless manually launched.

This is the script for Journal Entries - Feel free to try it out.

CREATE TRIGGER [AAG10001_Set_Window_Open] ON [dbo].[AAG10001]
FOR INSERT
AS

Update [dbo].[AAG10001]
Set AAWinWasOpen = 1
Where AAWinWasOpen <> 1 and aaGLWorkHdrID in (select aaGLWorkHdrID from inserted)
and aaGLWorkDistID in (select aaGLWorkDistID from inserted)

Hi,

Analytical transaction entry window is opening each time when select landed cost in receiving transaction entry window. I did not get this issue in GP 2013 SP2. I am getting this issue when upgrade GP from GP 2013 SP2 to GP 2015 R2.

I tried below trigger to update the AAWinWasOpen as 1 but it is not working. When I click on analytical button I am getting there is no distribution accounts linked to an accounting class but I do not know why the popup message is coming when close the window.

ALTER TRIGGER [dbo].[AAG10001_Set_Window_Open] ON [dbo].[AAG10001]

FOR INSERT

AS

Update [dbo].[AAG10001]

Set AAWinWasOpen = 1

Please provide solution. It will be a common issue or I need to update any setup to avoid this pop window. Kindly provide solution for this.
