Hello,

Is there a way around requiring available inventory before creating a warehouse pick? I have a client that may not have available inventory but wants to be able to create picks ahead of that and then allow warehouse employees to register picks when inventory becomes available and is actually picked. I can not find a way around this for warehouse or inventory picks.

Pick is designed as instruction for warehouse worker and Pick contains the exact location/bin and exact Lot No./Serial No. for the item to be picked up.
If this information is not available in the system, as there is no stock, then Pick cannot be generated.

You can try change the setups that Bins are not mandatory in location, and in item card and inventory setup allow negative inventory. Then maybe You could create a pick which processed would cause negative inventory - but I have a feeling You will still end up with the error message, that no item is available.

So You will need to do some modifications to overcome this validation.

It doesn't seem to be possible out of the box if the pick is required on a location. User will get a there is nothing to handle message.

You can setup a location with Always Create Pick Line.

That will allow you to create a warehouse pick even if there is no availability of the items in bins.
