Is there a way to implement/configure customer (end user) specific products?

Example:
Based on existing users/user groups I want to provide a different products. Means: Depending on the current user it would be possible to configure different products/visibility inside the product categories/hierarchy.

The only way to limit products to customers is via the B2B Customer hierarchy and catalogue functionality:
