While you can certainly do a lot with Crystal and SRS, in my experience what you're describing should really be 2 separate reports:
1. A 'traditional' statement is typically very straightforward and in my opinion should only show transactions that are not fully applied. Most companies do not actually use all the different options on the Statement in GP - they usually run statements with the same exact options every single time. So my goal would not be to create a report duplicating all the options available in GP, but rather have the report do exactly what the customer wants.
2. What you're describing sounds like what we call the AR Apply Detail report. If you're interested in something ready-made, we have this available either as a SmartList or a Crystal Report: http://www.flex-solutions.com/supplementalinfo_ar.html. If you're looking to do this yourself, this would be a little bit more complicated than the statement, since you'll need to bring in all the open and historical transactions.
Hope that helps,
Yes thanks Victoria. Step 3 was a little confusing but it should be title adding the RM Open table to the Report so that when you go to step 4 you can see the table.
Figure it out and it is working fine. However this field should be a standard one. Now the issue that I have is that in order to have the RM Statement option of Exclude Fully Applied Payments, you have to run the Remove Paid Transactions but them you don't have the options of showing all payments and the invoice that it was applied to anymore. Another is one or the other. Here internally they would like to see the two versions.
1- A tradional RM Statement just showing what the customer owns and
2- A Transactions RM Statement were it will show all the payment and the invoice that it was applied to side by side.
I was wondering since you mentioned that you have done RM statement on Crystal and SRS how would all these options work with Crystal / SRS or do you loose those Options out of the box? or you do a separate version on crystal for each?

Tony,
Not sure why you're not seeing the RM Open File. I just followed the steps from that KB article all the way from the beginning and it worked just fine for me - I didn't go past # 7 in Step 4, but I definitely see the RM Open File in the list of Resources (I am testing on GP 10.0 SP 3). Did you see the RM Open File when you were following the items in Step 3? Maybe that step didn't work properly?
If it's still not working, can you try it with a clean (brand new) reports dictionary?
Here is the interesting part, I'm picking up this RM Statement issue from an Old consultant and I hate to do half jobs or pick up an issue without knowing all the background information so I start from Zero and follow the famous KB article 912126 and guess what stuck on item 7 from Step 4 : Create a conditional field : When I Look unders resources RM Open file is not listed there! I mean what is really going on.... What m'I missing?
I completely agree with what you're saying. In my experience most companies that need to regularly send out customer statements will create custom statements either in Crystal or SRS. Especially with National Accounts involved.
