Confidential Appointment

Hi,

The overall goal is to make an appointment confidential like an account.

For the account, there is a checkbox to say if it's confidential or not. If it is marked as confidential, it then assigns the account to the "Confidential Access" team via a process workflow. In the account form, there is a place to add users to an account access team (a type of "associated record team members"). If I mark the account as confidential and another user is not on the access team, then the other user is unable to search and find the account. If they are on the account access team, they can search and edit it as normal.

I have setup the same situation for an appointment now after changing the entity to include "Access Teams" under info (associated record team template, workflow to autoassign if marked confidential,...).

The only difference is now when I mark an appointment as confidential --- a user NOT on the access team can still see the appointment. They can only read the information and cannot write to it. Once added to the confidential team, they can they read and edit as normal.

The non-confidential user has the same security privileges under account and activities.

My question is -- any thoughts on why in the account confidential situation a user CANNOT see the record, whereas in the appointment situation the user CAN see it but cannot make any edits. I would prefer that the user cannot see the record like in the account case.

Just in case this wasn't ever answered, you have custom code doing the Account confidential thing.  That's not out of the box.  So whoever developed that plugin also needs to develop one for your Activities to do the same thing.

Note, Activity records don't behave like other records, due to their need to be accessible everywhere.  The plugin might have to behave differently than your Account one.
