Administrator changed extension

Hello experts,

We have received this message saying, "Error: An administrator changed one or more extensions in the application, so the page that you were working on had to be closed.".

Our partner nor our BC administrator has updated or changed an extension.  How can we tell what is causing the pop-up message to appear?

Does Microsoft push hotfixes to there platform extensions outside of the environment update window?

I have the same question (0)

Normally if MS does then you will get the proper notification. This error comes up when someone attempt to publish the extension.

If you have telemetry enabled, you can check it to see which app or extension was updated.

if you are using telemetry, you can look at the log.
without it, it's hard to tell who.

    Hello,

That message appears whenever any extension (including Microsoft system/platform extensions) is installed, updated, or synchronized, which forces BC to reload pages. It does not require your partner to manually publish anything — Microsoft can push minor system or platform extension updates or backend hotfixes that trigger this popup, sometimes outside the major environment update window. To see what caused it, check Extension Management (Last Updated column) and Admin Center → Update History to see if a minor build or system app version changed. If it happens repeatedly, then look for a dev extension auto-publishing or a sync issue; if it happens briefly, it’s usually a Microsoft backend refresh.

    Regards,
    Oussama Sabbouh
