Hi:

For a Fixed Asset in Business Central, is there a field in any of the tables that calculates Remaining Years of Life?

Thanks!

As several other experts mentioned, without this field, this can only be calculated manually, so we generally customize a dedicated report for customers who use the fixed assets module. . . . .

In Business Central, there is no direct field that calculates the Remaining Years of Life for a Fixed Asset. However, you can derive it using the Depreciation Ending Date on the FA Depreciation Book page. By comparing this date with the current date, you can estimate the remaining life.

For a calculated approach, you can use the Depreciation Method, Depreciation Start Date, and No. of Depreciation Years fields to manually determine the remaining years.

    Hello,

No, There is No Such Field in Any of the table to Calculate Remaining Years of Life.

However, you can determine this by using the asset's depreciation information.

The remaining life can be calculated based on the asset's depreciation period and the amount of depreciation already recorded.

And As per Mr. Ramesh Kumar Sir said, You can use fields like the Depreciation Ending Date and the Depreciation Starting Date to manually calculate the remaining years.

    Thanks

    Hi John,

You have the Depreciation Start Year, End Year, and the Vehicle Year (the year of purchase), but I don’t see a column for the remaining years. You’ll need to add a column and create a custom flowfield for that.

    Thanks
    Ramesh
