Is it possible to model Passed/Failed inspection flow between operations in D365FO?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to design a production process in D365 Finance & Supply Chain Management where a product must go through a quality check between routing operations, with different flows depending on whether the result is Passed or Failed.

Business requirement:
After completing the first operation in the production route, the product must go through an inspection step. If the inspection result is Passed, the serial number can continue to the next normal operation. If the inspection result is Failed, the product should be routed to an alternative operation (for example, repair), and after repair it must return back to the inspection step for re-check.

Is there a standard way to configure this kind of Passed/Failed branching logic in D365FO without customizations?

No, Quality Orders cannot auto-update the Route after a Production Order is opened. There is also no standard function in the system to trigger a Route Op change based on those specific conditions.

    Good day,

I believe that's not possible in standard Dynamics 365 SCM. You might add a operation called "Quality inspection", but you cannot link it to the creation of a quality order.  You might consider to raise also an idea on the ideas portal: https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/

    Best regards,

In the standard system, there is no functionality available to meet this requirement.
