Good morning,

I am currently testing out Business Central production capabilities and I am wondering why there are no production orders / orders generated for the components of an item when working with a planning worksheet.

Setup:

Product A needs to be sold 10x

Product A must be produced consuming 1x Product B each

Product B mus be produced consuming 1x Product C each

And for Product C there must be a purchase order.

I believe if I have a demand forecast of 10x Product A, the planning worksheet should suggest

  • Purchase Order for 10x Product C
  • Production Order for 10x Product B (using product C as stated in BOM)
  • Production Order for 10x Product A (using product B as stated in BOM)

Actual result:

  • Production Order for 10x Product A
  • NOTHING ELSE

All items are MTS and Lot for lot. Product A & B have restock policies of production order and Product C has a restock policy of purchase order.

I feel like I am missing a fundamental concept here. Anyone able to help?

I have the same question (0)

After you calculate regenerative plan, and create planned or firm planned production orders, you now have a demand for product B and other components. Create production orders for product B and you now have demand for product C and other components.

You can also use the Refresh Planning Demand in the Planning Worksheet to calculate routings and component need.

    Hi

Sorry if I ask questions that you already worked on

    1) Does your forecast is for specific location? For example you can have location A and B and load the forecast for location B. if this is the case do you have SKU and right setup?

    2) If answer to above is No then in your Manufacturing Setup do you have 1)Combine MPS/MRP On? 2) Did you select Location for Component At Location?

    3) By any chance do you have enough of Product B that cover the demand?

    4) Do you have Dynamic Low Level Code in MFG Setup on? Or did you Run Low Level Code (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave2/smb/dynamics365-business-central/speed-up-low-level-code-calculations)

    5) Have you certified your Item B BOM? Does it have certified routing?

    6) What is your flushing method in item card (not relevant but thought to check).

    7) When you run your MRP did you turn on MPS and MRP? How about Respect Planning Parameters?

    8) What was your start and end date when you used planning worksheet

    9) Did you use Planning Worksheet or Requisitions Worksheet or Order Planning?
