Will Web Service be deprecated?

Hi all!

The message /If you want to set up an OData connection, for performance and stability reasons consider using an API page instead./ is always shown on Web Service page.
Does anyone know the reason?
I am afraid if BC will terminate web service feature in the next major or next next major.

Thank you

    Thank you for your replies.

I could understand about BC Web Service.
    SOAP would be terminated soon.
API is faster than OData, so it is better use API than OData because OData includes so many data field, like flow fields and it causes performace problems in Business Central.

Yes, imho, at some point I think web services will be discontinued.
    Best is to use APIs.
And by the way, there are use cases for Page APIs and also for Query APIs, so I would not recommend to always go for Page APIs ;-)

    Hi,

    I haven't heard of it.
The messages indicates that for performance and stability reasons, it is recommended to consider using an API page instead of setting up an OData connection.
Business Central supports three types of web services: API, SOAP, and OData.
The Business Central API stack have been optimized for performance and is the preferred way to integrate with Business Central.  Business Central also comes with an extensive list of built-in APIs that requires no code and minimal setup to use.
    The reference Microsoft document:

    Best Regards,
    Judy
