Lot numbers expiring???

We have an issue where the inventory module show a qty on hand..but when we go to assign the lot number we get "this lot has expired" so there are non available.

so far I have found 2 components ...with 15000 components...I am sure there are more?

Why is this happening? and how do we fix it...I cannot even adjust qtys in for the item..the lots just do not show up?

Just to clarify..(seeing you cannot edit posts??)

We do not use expiry dates on our lot tracked parts...the manufacturing module has shortages...but when we go to the inventory inquiry we see there is more than enough on hand in the site...but there are 0 available??

Should I run check links? Reconcile?...

Not sure this will fix it but try Utilities / Lot Number Attributes and then zero out the Expiration dates. Might have to be the SA user.  The other option is to remove the lots by reducing the qty for the item by the full qty of the lot, process it and then re-enter with same lot manufacture date and 00/00/0000 expiration date.

In general when we enter lots into Inventory Transaction or Assembly Entry we do not enter an expiration date.  We keep this as 00/00/0000 and therefore it never expires.

    Tami

Check the expiry date, there must be an expiry date. The utility mentioned by Jordan will let you change the expiry date (lot attributes). Try changing the expiry date for a specific item lot and check the available quantity and quantity on hand accordingly.

On the SQL level, you can check the field (EXPNDATE) in table (IV00300), you should be fine if they are all (1900-01-01 00:00:00.000)

Let us know if you need any further assistance,

Thank you Mahmoud, I did check the tables in SQL and there are no expiry dates...they all show (1900-01-01 00:00:00.000)

Thank you for your response...you are always most helpful!

I will keep an eye on this I may have to open a support ticket with MS

Thank you for your response...I have tried the utility...and there was nothing to process as there are no expiry dates although the Manufacturing module seems to think so.

so far I have had 2 items do this...

It would be a nice idea to check the SQL profiler as you receive this error, it would help you check what is causing the error.
