RMS Function Key, deleting of or modification to

I was searching the Forum lately to see if unused Function Keys, such as Gas Pump, could be deleted from the Transaction screen Function Key menu and came across a post that said those keys could not be altered.  However, the RMS User Guide, pages 294 and 295, seems to indicate that the Function Keys can be deleted.

Before I attempt to delete a key, I thought I'd ask the question:  Can you delete the unused Function Keys?

Also, I am interested in changing the Cash Drop Function Key to an Alt Key.  Can this be done?

    You can not delete a function key either.   But what you can do is greyout the key so that a cashier can not use the function.  CHeck the help guide on Security setup.  

    Basically open POS.  signin as a admin.  Click the Lower left hand button on the function bar that is BLANK.    Then press CTRL + S keys on the keyboard.   Then you can right click any button outlined in a color and edit the security.  You will have 31 numbers.  Each cashier when created gets a security level number (defaults to 0).  

    When done or moving to another screen press CTRL + S again.  your settings will be saved.  Other POS stations will need to have the pos program restarted.

    Hello Jim,

    Thank you for your question.

    As Ed noted, the default Function keys in Store Operations POS cannot be edited or deleted.

    User defined keys, however, can be edited and modified.
