Service Address fails in contract lines

There is a system N:1 relationship to the address table in both the contract and contract line entities.  This works as expected when exposed on the contract form but does not diplay anything for contract lines either in the form assistant or the lookup window.  It doesn't matter if the parent contract has a service address selected or not.

 The address entity is not available for a custom relationship.  Any idea why it will not work for contract lines?

    May be is not related, but in my case when an imported product  id was not perfectly mathched, this casued a distortion in contract lines. You could see the contract line but some data was not displayed or available. If you found the root casue please share when possible. Regards.
