Looking for some help on a workflow.

  • If opportunity equals won
  • and type equals "One shot"
  • Then send email to primary contact on account after 3 months
  • Resend email every 3 months

Correction, title should read "after 3 months" not "after 30 days"

The issue that is happening is that multiple emails are sent to the contact while testing the workflow.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

    Hi Sean,

I will step in and see if I can provide any help. At first glance it looks like you have everything set up correctly. However, it might be that because you are running the Workflow in the background, which is good, but you might be re-running your workflow before the newly sent email send has time to update in your CRM. Are you getting maybe two or three emails when testing, then it stops? You have a couple options to fix this, but perhaps adding in a Wait condition until the Last Contacted is updated before starting the Child Workflow? Or another Timeout Condition that gives your CRM a 5 minute buffer or so. Depending on the size and scale of what you are trying to do, this could cause some serious drain on your CRM. I hope this helps in some sort of way!

I am not sure, but just from the look of it, it seems like the Restart Process is not part of the If statement, but by itself. Was that your intention? This might be causing the multiple emails as well.

Also, how is the workflow being execute this first time? Do you have a parent workflow? I don't see any selection in the Automatic processing sections.

Hope this might give you some additional pointers.
