Second Line for Vendor Name on 1099

One of my customers requested a modification to the 1099 form this year because they needed to have the vendor's name on the first line and a 'dba' on the second line (as per recommendations of the IRS). When I went to modify the form I found that there wasn't an easy way of doing this. We were able to use Address line 1 (we had to move it up a little) but this requried us to move the first address line to address line 2 for all of our 1099 vendors.

Does anyone have any tips on resolving this issue and being able to comply with IRS guidelines?

We switched over to GP fairly recently and are encountering the same issue.  Just curious to see if you discovered a resolution?  Currently, we are using address line 1 as well.

    Hello Kevin,

Thank you for using Microsoft Online Communities.  I understand that you would like to add the DBA name of the company to the 1099 report.  I was able to find a knowledge base article that we have that will assist with this.

872154 I would like to print the legal business name as well as the DBA (Doing Business As) name on my 1099 reports.

The article is for version 9 but would still be valid in GLP 10 and 2010.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

    Best regards,
