Scan GS1 Barcode on POS terminal

Is it possible to scan GS1 barcode on POS terminal?

I've activated "Scan GS1 barcode" feature from the feature management to manage the warehouse operation.

I am using the following GS1 policy (GTIN+Serial number),
Example (010628514700359421WAJI1V9013240WW079ET) where

  • GTIN number is (01) 06285147003594
  • Serial number is (21) WAJI1V9013240WW079ET

so I am looking to scan the GS1 code and let the POS to automatically identify and populate the product number and the serial number.

is it possible?

    Hi

    I watched a TechTalk on this Feature yesterday, and I think it might be repeated today, else look out for it appearing in the archive in the next few days.

    The Feature was introduced to add functionality to the Warehouse mobile app, so it might not be supported on Retail POS.

    The person you need to reach out to is Nicole Gump - Senior Program Manager at Microsoft; she delivered the TechTalk.

    Hello Jan

    I did not contact Nicole, I created an advisory case with Microsoft and I received a reply that it is not available for the moment to scan the GS1 barcodes from the POS terminal, moreover, the GS1 as function still on the review phase and a lot of enhancement will be available on the upcoming release 10.0.26 .

    note: (my current version is 10.0.24)

    Has anyone found a solution to GS1 barcodes with a manufacturer provided code for coupon/discount link in D365 / Commerce for redemption at the POS?
     
    It seems like a big hole to not be able to configure manufacturer provided coupons at the moment. A customization would be lengthy.
