    Hello,

It is a basic question but it is not easy for answering because it requires your experience in working with MS CRM. These are my experience, hope it will be useful for you.

In fact, we can use workflow for requirement that user do not require to interact with MS CRM and sometime user do not know workflow is existing or not. In some case, user no need to be trained about the workflow, it can be defined and trigger automatically.

BPF is different from workflow, it require user to interact and users are responsible for their action, user should be trained for understanding BPF and all the process of BPF.

BPF is visualized to user by UI while workflow does not visualize to user.

    Regards,

Hi you should Use Business Rules when you need to apply client side rules on fields for Validations, hiding and displaying fields etc instead of using Jscript, they only fire on the record that is open where as

Workflows are triggered on a specific entity but can perform logic on related records, and  can be either Synchronous or Asynchronous, They are generally used against system wide updates and automation, and can also call Custom Plugin Activities to perform more complex operations.

    Hope that helps :)

    Hi,

As per my Knowledge, We are using workflows in 2 ways

Synchronous and Asynchronous. We are using Synchronous workflows for Immediate results(For e.g : Deactivate the records,  update the records, delete records etc.)

Coming to Asynchronous we  can use for particular time for particular job like sending mails to the customer on particular time and day.

So using workflow we can send mails etc. Which we can't do through Business Process.

Coming to Business Process flow, we can set here multiple stages. Lets take an example like Lead Entity. Qualify---> Develop ---> Propose --> Close.

These are the different stages for qualifying the lead close as opportunity like that. So we can achieve stages in Business Process.

These are the difference between Workflows and Business Process Flows..

    Thanks.
