New CRM 2011 Outlook Client Installation Error

It appears Microsoft has removed some of the prerequisite files from the web servers that the installation calls for downloads.

The links provided for the prerequisites for download and installation in the Setup.exe (CU 6) are broken and this causes the installation to fail.  Found this out by using a power shell script to create a redistributable pack.

Files that are returning a 404 not found error:
      Microsoft Sign-in Assistant
      Windows Identity Foundation

Solution would be to put the files requested by the setup back on the Microsoft web server.  Do you know if they are working of fixing this?

    We have the same problem running the Setup.exe.

    We did come up with a workaround.  You have to get the redist folder off the installation disc to do this.  Then disconnect from the internet.  We are forcing it to use the local copies from the redistribution set instead of seeking updated version from the website.

    Copy Redist folder to their computer in a folder called CRM on their C drive.

    In that folder install MsoIdCrl 64 bit version

    Now start CRM install package and select CRM folder the Redist folder is in for the installation directory.

    Proceed as usual.

    Don't forget to install the latest rollups so that the old component get updated.
