Unable to Access Dynamics 365

Hello,

First time Dynamics user here. I'm trying to get started, I've got an active Sales Enterprise subscription and assigned the license to my user account but I can't seem to find the Sales app (or Dynamics 365 app). When I go to the dynamics website and click login, I'm redirected to my Office 365 apps. When go to m365.cloud.microsoft and search Dynamics 365, it sends me to a bookmark link that is no longer active (home.dynamics.com).

How am I supposed to access Dynamics?

Thank you!

You can verify license is correctly assigned to your user account in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
If you have license may be you can locate it using search bar!

The home url was retired and you can go to https://dynamics.microsoft.com/

    Hi Vahid,

I've triple checked that the license is assigned to my account in my tenant - I can see environments in my Power Admin site, but no where do I see the Dynamics app.

    Please advise.

    Unable to Access Dynamics 365
    Hello HR-30042205-0,

It sounds like you've taken the right initial steps by assigning the license, but you're hitting a common point of confusion for new Dynamics 365 users – the different entry points and how the apps are organized.

Here's a breakdown of how you should be accessing your Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise app:

The Correct Way to Access Dynamics 365 Apps:

You should access your Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise app through the Microsoft 365 app launcher (also known as the "waffle" icon). Here's a step-by-step guide:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 Portal: Open your web browser and navigate to https://www.office.com/ or https://www.google.com/search?q=https://login.microsoftonline.com/&authuser=1.

    2. Sign In: Log in using the same username and password associated with your Microsoft 365 account where you've assigned the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise license.

    3. Open the App Launcher: Once you're logged in, look for the app launcher icon in the top-left corner of the page. It usually looks like nine small dots arranged in a square (the "waffle"). Click on this icon.

    4. Find the Dynamics 365 App(s): A menu will appear showing your available Microsoft 365 apps. Look for an app tile labeled "Dynamics 365" or potentially "Dynamics 365 Sales".

      • If you see "Dynamics 365": Clicking this might take you to a home page where you can see all the Dynamics 365 apps you have access to (Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, etc.). You should then be able to select the "Sales Enterprise" app from there.

      • If you see "Dynamics 365 Sales": You might directly see an app tile specifically for "Dynamics 365 Sales" or "Sales Enterprise." Click on this tile to open the Sales app.

    5. Access the Sales Enterprise App: Once you've found the Dynamics 365 app tile, click on it. This will open the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise application in a new browser tab or window.

    6.

Why Your Previous Attempts Didn't Work:

    • Redirect to Office 365 Apps: Clicking "login" on a generic Dynamics 365 website often redirects you to your Microsoft 365 account because that's where your licenses are managed and where the app launcher resides.

    • Inactive Bookmark (home.dynamics.com): The home.dynamics.com link was used in older versions or specific configurations of Dynamics 365. The primary access point for the Unified Interface (the modern Dynamics 365 experience) is through the Microsoft 365 app launcher.

    •

Troubleshooting Steps if You Still Can't Find the App:

    • Double-Check License Assignment: Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center () as an administrator and verify that the Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise license is indeed assigned to your user account. Navigate to Users > Active users, select your user, and check the Licenses and apps section.

    • Wait for Synchronization: Sometimes, it can take a little time for the license assignment to fully synchronize across all Microsoft services. If you've just assigned the license, wait a few hours and try accessing the apps again.

    • Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Occasionally, browser cache and cookies can interfere with the display of available apps. Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies and then sign in to Office 365 again.

    • Try a Different Browser: In rare cases, a specific browser might have issues. Try accessing the app launcher using a different web browser (e.g., Chrome, Edge, Firefox).

    • Contact Your Organization's Administrator: If you're part of an organization, reach out to your internal IT administrator or the person responsible for managing your Microsoft 365 subscriptions. They can verify the license assignment and ensure your user account is properly provisioned for Dynamics 365.

    •

In summary, the key is to access Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise through the Microsoft 365 app launcher (the "waffle" icon) after logging into your Microsoft 365 account. Avoid using outdated bookmarks or generic Dynamics 365 login pages directly. If you still encounter issues, double-check your license assignment and consider the troubleshooting steps mentioned above. Welcome to the world of Dynamics 365! So after fiddling around for a bit I learned that my default tenant was not setup with a dataverse instance. It now has one, but there is no simple way to install all the Dynamics 365 software for the Enterprise Sales experience.

I have since created a new tenant, with the dataverse attached to it, and was able to install Sales Enterprise. It has taken about a day, but I am now able to see the Sales Hub in my apps towards the bottom. There's a section called Business Apps.
