Hai dudes,

I have one new doubt. What is probability in Opportunity?

In this above image I had marked the probability in red color and some value in blue color what is that? what it use . how to calculate probability for opportunities . And also I saw that Rating option in lead. If we qualify the lead it will automatically converted to opportunity. But what is this probability. can any explain this probability and what its use and also how to calculate the value in detail? I am waiting for your reply ...

Hi Sneha,

Dynamics CRM allows the use of the Probability (%) field by users where they can type in a percent value (whole numbers from 1 to 100) representing the likelihood of closing the deal.

ok may i know what is the exact use of opportunity in crm 2015. i studied many link. but still i didnt know the exact use of opportunity. can you explain me the opportunity with one example.

Sneha,

It is just a field, you can use it or not, it depends on your Business Requirement.

There are many examples mentioned to weigh the Opportunity by its probability to get the est revenue.

But, in my case, so far I never have customers use this field.

They have their own thinking the way they measure the weigh.

And usually they also use such as Rating or Probability but those are in Option Set, while in CRM it is just a field you can key in numeric.

Hi Sneha,

A probability ican be used to weigh the estimated revenue based on what the sales executive enters. Probability is a numerical field limited to a whole number between 0 and 100, so can be used in calculations for reporting.
