Hi Guys,

I am trying to add Transfer orders to the workflows in business central but i cannot figure out how to get the create approval request to link send the notifications to the direct approvers when I go the the workflow responses like in the example below.

I have looked at the link below but this did not help me for this in particular:

Is there a way to do create approval requests for other tables than the standard tables in my case the Transfer Header?

I have attached my code.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi All,

    Thanks for the help.

The customer does not have Power Automate so this was not an option, and some of these other links relates to adding extra events on already existing tables in the workflow.

I have ended up making a custom button on the transfer orders that sends an email according to setup, once the email has been sent the post action is blocked and the manager has to "Approve" it fist which then enables the post button again.

but for Transfer Orders you need this custom extension approach and if you are using Approval Mgmt. Codeunit, notifications will be sent based on:

    1. The setup in User Approval Entries

    2. Notification settings for the user (email, BC internal notifications)

    3. Job Queue enabled for sending emails

    Thanks
    Ramesh

Good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on your location!

It looks like you're trying to add Transfer Orders to workflows in Business Central and ensure approval requests are correctly sent to direct approvers. Since the standard workflow templates may not include Transfer Orders by default, here’s how you can achieve this:
Steps to Create Approval Requests for Transfer Orders
    1. Ensure Transfer Header is Enabled for Workflows
      • Business Central workflows typically work with predefined tables. To include Transfer Header, you may need to extend the workflow functionality by adding it as an approval-enabled table.
    2. Modify Workflow Events and Responses
      • In the Workflow Setup, create a new workflow for Transfer Orders.
      • Define an event that triggers when a Transfer Order is created or modified.
      • Set up a response to create an approval request for the record using Approver Type = Approver and Approver Limit Type = Direct Approver (as shown in your image).
    3. Use Custom Approval Workflow Logic
      • If the standard workflow responses don’t work for Transfer Orders, you may need to create a custom approval workflow using Power Automate or Business Central extensions.
      • You can follow this guide on creating custom approval workflows in Business Central.
    4. Check Notification Settings

    Hope this helps!
