Custom fiscal year/period setup?

Hiall,

First of many posts I imagine - just getting to grips with new CRM implementation....

My company uses a custom fiscsl year and period setup, where each quarter is a 4-5-4 configuration. Last year was different again, with a 53 week year (don't ask me why, not a clue!!)

Does anyone know if its possible to set this up in CRM? I've seen the standard Fiscal Year Settings in Business Management, but it doesn't appear to want to cater for this.

Any advice much appreciated.

Cheers, Tony

    Hello Tony,

The Out of Box CRM Fiscal Year sytem is designed to work with a 52 week/12 month calendar.   However  you could customize the system using the CRM SDK to create your own Fiscial Year setup.

Hi Brian. Do you have an idea of where I might find any SDK documentation related to fiscal year setup as you referenced?

I know this is an old post however I am having the same issu and cannot find a way to do this.  Brian mentions using the SDK.  Is there and example somewhere that explains how to create a fiscal calendar using the SDK.  Many companies are on a 4-4-5 or 5-4-4 fiscal calendar.

I've looked all over for a guide on how to implement this, without success.  We currently use Dynamics CRM 2011, but would happily update to 2013 if needed.  It would be ideal if you could set, each year, what your month end dates are.  We run 13 week quarters (4-4-5) with the end of year date being December 31 meaning the last month is about 5 and a half weeks.  A CRM support engineer has said this is possible.  Please could someone share how to do this?  Thanks.

Perhaps you can get some ideas from the solution provided by Zero2Ten: zero2ten.com/tracking-custom-fiscal-periods-like-the-4-4-5-calendar-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm
