Real time workflow not working - Dynamic 365

Hi,

I created a real time workflow, it will get execute when record is created.

This records are create in external system and later they are push in CRM. I need when they pushed in CRM workflow must execute.

But when I set the workflow to background, it executes when records get pushed.

Please help to understand, why it is not executing.

    Hi,

    Are you saying you have created a workflow which triggers on create of record. This workflow works fine if background but when you set it to realtime it is not working? How do you know if it is not working or working? What operations are you performing in this workflow? Are you using any custom code within this workflow?

    Please share the screenshot of your workflow.

    operations are very simple. Just to set the field value. No custom workflows.

    Background WF is working as i check it's process id in advance find.

    Real time workflow doesn't create process sessions. So if you are saying real time not working just because you don't see process session then it is not correct. Check the field value which you are setting in the workflow. Alternatively, also enable the workflow to run on demand and then run it ondemand to confirm if the workflow is working or not.

    ideally an error must be seen on workflow, I don't see any error even a second tick, as condition satisfy.

    As mentioned above, real time doesn't create process sessions, you will not see any workflow session or any execution. If there is any error in real time workflow, it will fail the complete transaction.

    Did you check if workflow works on demand?

    Hi,

    You will not get error in system jobs if workflow is real time.

    Error in system jobs will come only if workflow is background process

    Check scope of your workflow. and try after changing it to organization.
