How to upgrade database for MS Dynamics 365

Hi Team,

I have a managed package which I need to import into MS Dynamics 365. Minimum version required is 8.2.0002.0112. (Refer below snapshot from solution package)

Below is snapshot of MS Dynamics org versions (App version: 8.2.14.10, DB version: 8.0.0.528).

When I try to import my package into this organization, I get below error mentioning that solutions with version 8.0 or earlier only can be uploaded into this org (Snapshot below).

We understand that it is because DB version of the org is still 8.0.0.528 lower than what is required by managed package 8.2.0002.0112.

Can anyone please let me know how to upgrade the DB version to required version which could work?

Hi Partner

You can navigate to deployment manager and Right click on the affected org and click on upgrade organization, this should proceed with the upgradation of the org

Hi Akash,

I am not able to update the database for MS DYnamics 365. Please note I am using a on-premise deployment.

Whenever I upgrade using the executables from Microsoft website, it just upgrades the application (E.g. From 8.0 to 8.1 and from 8.1 to 8.2) but not the database.

Can you please help with which executable I need to run to upgrade database from 8.0 to 8.2?

Hi Varun,

It seems that you are referring to this upgrade version (08.02.0000.0749) which is available here.

If you have already upgraded to Dynamics 365 version 8.2 then you should launch the CRM deployment manager on Dynamics CRM server where you have installed the deployment tools and then navigate to the organization to see if an update is available for the org. If it is, you may simply right click and update it from the deployment snap-in console. Please also ensure that you have updated the Srs component as well using the file from the upgrade download site :: CRM2016-Srs.

I tried opening Deployment Manager. But, I don't see any option to upgrade the database. See below.

I could be wrong but it looks like your server does not have latest patch (or update ) installed..

I suggest following article to check relevant update for your environment, install it and then it will either automatically update org or will give you option to do it after installation is done
