Celedon Auto Numbering SQL Error

Hi, 

I am receiving a SQL Error when testing out the below configuration. The desired outcome is that a claim number is entered when a date reported is entered. I have double checked all the field names and the entity name and they are all correct but it won't work on update. It just keeps giving the SQL error.

I have successfully setup auto numbering on another entity on create but can't get this one to work. I have tried using capitals and lowercase but still no success.

    The issue was that the field I was trying to write too had a character limit on it.

    Hi Aimee,

    Then I suggest your best option is to reach out directly to Celedon or you can have a look at their source code (if you have some developer skills) and reverse engineer the process github.com/.../Celedon-Autonumber-RTM

    Hi Radu,

    It is a solution provided by Celedon. They have an auto-numbering solution which I have used successfully on another entity but can't get it to work for this one.

    Hi Aimee,

    If there isn't any plug-in involved, could you please explain how the autonumbering should work? Is this a solution you got from a 3rd party vendor or is it something you developed yourself?

    The error message is below.

    I am just trying to add an auto number to an entity when the qas_claimnumber field is updated.

    There isn't any plugins involved and unfortunately we are still on v8.2 at the moment with no plans to upgrade until next year.

    Hello,

    Can you provide more details on the SQL Error? Is it a DEADLOCK, TIMEOUT, DUPLICATE KEY error?

    Can you share more details on what you are trying to accomplish and an architecture / code of any plug-ins that are involved?

    Also if you are trying to set up AutoNumbering - if you are using CRM 9.0 or above, you could consider the built in Auto Number Attributes docs.microsoft.com/.../create-auto-number-attributes
