Company Missing from Database update

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I have an upgrade from SL 7.0 to SL 2011.

The databases have been moved to a new server and upgraded successfully.

The APP databases are missing from the Database Update Screen in SL and I am unable to login to the app databases though SL.

I am able to create and additional application database on the same system db and have logged into it.

Everything is correct in the Domain and Company tables.

I have updated views, synced ownership and security.

I have removed and re-added the company from both the domain and company tables using the SL screen.

Any suggestions?  I am totally at a loss on this one.  I have never seen it happen before.

THANKS!

Update....  I submitted an incident with Microsoft.  This is a known issue that hasn't been written up just yet.  The MASTER password needs to be wiped out in the Domain table (SYS DB) and the MASTER Password needs to be wiped out in ZP field in the GLSetup table (APP DB).

Hi Jenni, yes I saw them but I am not sure what the issue could be without looking at the actual system. You might be better off opening a case with MS.

Butch.  Thanks for the suggestion.  This client does not have the Multi Company Module purchased so I am unable to load that screen.  I have reached TrialLoc mode. Any other suggestions?

From your snapshots it looks like it shows up properly in Database Maintenance 98.290

Can you go to Foundation -> Multi-Company -> Company setup and see if the companies are visible there?

If so, will you uncheck the "active" box, save, exit, go back and recheck the "active" box?

I have seen a sort of similar situation in 2011.

Yes Stefan.  I was able to do all three except for #4, as the company is missing from the list to choose there.  This is a very odd thing.  I have never seen this before and I have done 100's of SL upgrades / installs since the 1995.  All I can think is that there is a proc or view somewhere that was not updated correctly.  I have tried upgrading the database and starting over.  I tried it on both fp1 and sp1.  All with no luck.  Do you have any other suggestions?

    Stefan.

I am limited to a 64kb upload.  I have uploaded 3 zip files each with a screen shot.  Please let me know if you have any recommendations.
