Matching Connection Roles Issue

Posted on by 390

Hi

From a contact I can click "connect" to create a connection. I am selecting my contact in the "name" field and choose a connection role called "teacher" in the "as this role" field. When I select this it automatically populates the person I'm connecting to as "student" which is exactly what I want to happen.

I have another role called "supply teacher", when selecting this my matching connection role of "student" does not auto populate but I cant figure out why and everything is exactly the same as my teacher role ???

    RE: Matching Connection Roles Issue

I've just had this same issue and fixed it.  In my case the Connection Role had been previously paired with a different role, that I had since deactivated and replaced with another.  I located that old inactive Connection Role and deleted it, which solved the problem.

Whether that's coz the old Role was still actually paired (although inactive), or just that there was some residual connection between them I don't know, but it worked.

    Hi,

If you go to Settings > Business Management > Connection Roles.

Open up the Supply Teacher record, you need to add the Matching Connection Role in the sub grid at the bottom, similar to this:

When go to create a connection and set the Supply Teacher in the first role field the second will autopopulate:

Long shot; did you ever find a solution for this?
