Hello,

I would like to know if we can copy products in dynamics 365 SCM,

The objective is to copy the article card + the units of measures + the commercial agreements for purchases and sales, without having to recreate the product manually.

PS: the import process through Excel does not fit my needs.

Hello Said,

Are you trying to copy the item across companies (Legal Entities)? Or are you trying to copy the same item but for a different version?

my client's need is to create copies of the products (on the same legal entity), in order to have two identical products in the database but with two different numbers.

It is not possible to do a copy of a product. If you need to create many products that are similar, you can create a product template to default all the values on product creation and then modify for the specific product.

You can also add your requirement as an idea in the ideas portal (Ideas (dynamics.com)), so that if it gets voted, it may be considered in the long term roadmap.

I don't think it's a common need in companies, even the client who described the need to me doesn't use it frequently.

As they have said before all the configurations that you ask for are not possible to copy with a template.

One option could be to use product master, that way you have a single item code but different variants.
