Auto-filling a lookup field based on the selection in another lookup field.

My team and I are struggling to get this scenario to work. We have a Departments table and a Users table related in that a Department can have many Users. And in the Users table, we have a Lookup field for the user to select a related Department from a drop-down. The part we need help with is that upon the selection of a department, we need the related Department Manager to auto fill in another field on the Users table. We found a post talking about Java Script to make this happen but we have not been able to successfully adapt the example given to our needs. Is that the only option? Does anyone have an easier way to go about this that we just don't know about? My team and I are all relatively new to Power Apps. Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

    Hi,

We have analyzed your requirement, please tell us that your requirement is to add the /Department Manager/ field to one of the fields above the /User/ table when the user selects the department. Is this correct?

Or is it something like the following, when a user selects a department, a field is automatically populated in the /user/ table

If it is the first case, you can try /Workflow/ to update the field.

If it's the second case, there should be no out-of-the-box functionality to fulfill your needs, judging from my experience. We recommend that you contact your organization's IT staff or use the following link to seek Microsoft technical support.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
