What are my options for Analysis cubes with Dynamics GP version 10.0

I have Dynamics version 10.0 and im not sure about plans to upgrade to a newer version just yet.  However, the first steps toward getting a data warehouse into place have started and the data from Dynamics / GP will be one of the sources where we pull from, along with another system.

I'm not familiar with GP but Ive come across a few articles that mention using Analysis cubes with Dynamics and Im wondering if this is an "extra feature" or something that is an addon or something we have to build ourselves, manually defining the dimensions, facts etc.

Any advice or urls for further reading and/or suggesions would be appreciated.

Analysis Cubes for GP 10 and GP 2010 were part of GP Advanced Management. With GP 2013 they are included with the Starter Pack. So depending on which verison of GP you have will dictate whether you can use cubes or not. There is a separate installtion and setup process required for Analysis Cubes. You will find these instructions in the install media.

Thank you Richard, that helped.  That helps with at least the GP part of the equation.  Now, would there be any issue with building other cubes in the same data source that come from other sources, or can these cubes exist only by themselves.

By the way, its come to my attention that we will be upgrading soon to at least GP 2010, but I'm going to check on why that was chosen as opposed to GP 2013, but that was outside of my control.

In other words, say I setup an empty database, built some cubes that pull data from a different OLTP system, can this addition feature of GP add cubes to an existing system, and vice versa, can I add cubes to an OLAP database that was setup and populated with data from GP?

It sounds as though this extra module is simply a tool to build cubes based on the underlying schema of the GP database, and the datasource could be a new/empty database or one that already exists.  Does that sound right?

Cubes are a generic term. What you get from Microsoft are a set of pre-designed cubes for financial, sales, purchasing, inventory, payroll, etc. You are certainly free to either build your own cubes or buy other cubes and then it is up to you to make sure they point to the correct data. The end result is going into Excel and chooisng external datasource and then cubes. From there you are free to drop your data into pivot tables inside Excel. You do not build cubes for GP with Analysis Cubes you simply use the ones they provide.
