What is the usage of "Position" in General Tab of BOM?

In BOM -> General I can see Position field. What is the usage of this field?

I cannot seem to find General on the Bil of material form.

Hello MahGah,

This should represent the position of the BOM line item. This is just for classifying the raw materials position I believe. So, you could have position 1, 2....

The position number is referring to the position number in an assembly drawing. So, workers can use this information to see where the item number is used in for example in a machine assembly.

in process manufacturing / batch orders, we always use this field to indicate order in which ingredients need to be added to the batch.
