What does date modifications mean in the item master? Why is this useful, how can we track it?

I have the same question (0)

Are you talking about the SystemModifiedAt field ?

If that is the case then it tells you when the item last was modified.

Cant't find any field in the Item tabled called data modifications.

I am talking about system modified field.

I noticed same date in the date modified date in approx 6k items. Its humanly not possible to make changes in 6k items. How does this field capture the information? I mean on what basis.

it doesn't mean modified date by human. You can have a logic that mass update 100 items and you will get the same date for that 100 items.

If you use config package to update a field in multiple items, you can get the same date as well.

There are a lot of logics in BC that modify Item in background, such as costing.

Hi, I agree with Teddy, the user may have run the report below.

And if user use configuration package to import Items, and checked Validate Field, will also cause the same phenomenon.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.
