Lot Expiration Dates Defaulting

Is there a way to have the lot expiration date default when receiving in the item and assigning it a lot number, rather than having to click the blue arrow and manually enter the expiration date? What is the "Lot Expiration Days" field for in the Item Engineering Data window then?

You can only enter the Lot Attribute information(Expiration Date) by clicking the expansion button on near by the Lot Number field.

Note: You can edit the Lot expiration date in Edit Lot Attribute information window(Tools-->Utilities-->Inventory-->Edit Lot Attribute information).
