Limit and numbering of Stage Categories in Sales Pipeline chart

Posted on by 719
  1. Is there a limitation on the number of stages displayed in the Sales Pipeline chart in Dynamics365 / Dynamics CRM Online? We have a business process flow that has more than 10 stages, but the Sales Pipeline chart only displays the first 10. Is there a way to increase the number of pipeline phases displayed in the chart? (Note that the stages of the BPF have been matched correctly to the Stage Category global option set).

  2. When the numerical prefix is added to the pipeline phase name (by the system workflow which can't be edited), they are labelled as shown below:
    1-Stage One
    2-Stage Two
    3-Stage Three
    ...
    10-Stage Ten
    11-Stage Eleven,

The result is that out-of-the-box Sales Pipeline chart puts stages 10, 11, 12 etc above stage one (as shown in the chart below), but they should be further down the chart because they are further into the Business Process Flow. Is this something that can be resolved by configuration?

    Thanks Nadeeja.

I found that when I created a new system view and a new sales pipeline (funnel) chart to go with it, it included more than 10 stages.

That being said, the issue caused by the lexicographic sorting of the pipeline phases was still occurring, i.e. 10-..., 11-... etc were appearing at the top of funnel before 1-..., 2-...,

To work around it we consolidated the pipeline phases so there were less than 10.

    Hi Inksrm,

    1. Number of series that can be included in a chart is 10 as far as I know.

    2. You can try to edit the chart XML and change the order by parameter. The issue here is 1- comes after 10-.  If it was 01- it would sort properly.  You can add additional parameters to the  by editing chart XML.  You can try adding a new field which duplicates the salesstage field but has the correct naming convention and then order by that field.

Below article explains how to edit Chart XML.
