We're not able to locate the service using the provided credentials

Hi!

We trying to log into Business Central Online tenant by using the Business Central Android App. I give my work account into the app and click on the right arrow. After the successful authentication (using MFA) I got the flowing error: We're not able to locate the service using the provided credentials.

Does anyone experienced the same problem before?

If I use the webclient and sign into https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/ there is no problem, I can successfully sign into my production tenant.

I have Essential licence assigned to my user, also have the SUPER permission group.

Thx

    Hi,

Most likely the cause is related to using a different name for the Production environment instead of the default name "Production". This causes desktop/mobile application unable to determine what environment to connect and we need to build an URL to assist pointing to the correct environment.

    Resolution: Follow below:

    1. Send this ms-businesscentral://businesscentral.dynamics.com/MYOWNTENANT and ask the user to just click on it. The users that use this URL need to have the BC application installed on the desktop or mobile device or it would not work.

    2. The user will be redirected to the application and will need to enter the credentials and log in.

    3. Once the users are able to log in the environment they will not need to do this again but if they want to log to another environment they will need to build a new URL with the environment they want to log in. On the documentation you will find several ways to create the URL depending on what you need.

This is a feature to access multiple environments with different names is most likely something which will introduced to the app in the future.

    Hi Sebastian,

Thanks for the quick reply! Yes, the tenant name was different than "Production". The "hack" worked in the Windows 10 app, it is redirected to my production tenant and logged in.

On Android I need to figure out how can I click on this link and open the BC app. On IOS it is worked but I did not find a way to do it on Android yet.

    Anyway, thanks for the solution!
