Received transfer order can be deleted?

Hello all,

To my understanding it's a standard functionality that transfer orders can be deleted when they are fully received. I don't understand why this is a possibility.. Does this not create inconsistencies in your data because posted transactions are not deleted and will still refer to the deleted transfer order. What is the point in deleting received transfer orders? Could someone provide me with a use case in which this functionality makes sense?

I'm aware that deleted transfer orders are visible on the transfer order history page, but still, I don't really see the point of deleting an order that has posted transactions.

Additional question: I would like users to be able to delete a created transfer order (no posted transactions) but I would like to prevent them from deleting received transfer orders. I could prevent users from deleting transfer orders altogether via permissions, but is it also possible to configure permissions based on a specific transfer order status (ie created vs received)?

Many thanks!

Kr,

Mattijs

Use the function delivery remainder to close off a created Transfer order,

D365 will remove it from the system automatically once all lines have been zeroed out.

Thus, disable the delete action from security to prevent users deleting TOs in status Received and job done.

as for your first question , deleting orders "completed" does not create any inconsistency.

Orders generates transactions which contain all the info required by D365 to calculate Stock and ledger values .

If orders are deleted , transactions will still remain with all the info that really matter.

It is a good thing we can remove orders in status Received to reduce the amount of records on the tables to improve performance.

Generally speaking there are several clean up jobs in the various module that delete completed orders or journals.
