Why item costing is not calculating at the time of sale (Issuance). can anyone share

    HI Raheel,

    There can be some reasons for not having the cost price. In case you create and post the sales order while there is no inventory on-hand or in case goods were received where the invoice is not posted, it might not have a cost yet to use at the sales order. 
     
    There is a periodic job in Inventory management called 'Closing and adjustment'. This will allocate the cost based on the chosen inventory costing model e.g. at month end. Then the costing will be settled and adjusted.

    Do I have to perform re-calculation and closing process. OR closing and re-calculation.
     
    Reason for asking this question I have seen the option in closing. so I think Microsoft is suggesting it.

    Hi Raheel,
     
    The post-closing recalculation is optional. I hardly used it in implementations as there was another recurring process scheduled to have periodic recalculations executed.

    E.g. weekly, a recalculation was executed where after month end the closing was triggered.
