Restriction of warehouse using XDS

Dear All,

i have requirement to restrict warehouse based on user. For that i have created custom table to hold warehouse details and user details. Below is the query for that.

the issue is i am able to restrict the data for view purpose.

but when i create record i am getting an error like 

Cannot create a record in Inventory dimensions (InventDim). Dimension number: #0000001000011218, #0000001000011218. The record already exists.

any solution for above issue.

    Hi Kartheek,

    I do assume you also contacted me via LinkedIn? If so, have you read my blog about this topic?

    Extensible Data Security examples - Secure by warehouse (dynamicspedia.com)

    In the technical details, I explained that you can't constrain the tables InventDim and InventSum. Otherwise, you will indeed get the runtime error as you shared above. 

    As resolution, you can have the tables part of the policy, but not set to be contrained.

    yes I only contacted through LinkedIn. I have changed my query like below is the snapshot.

    in range i am passing current user. Below are the properties for policy.

    in this case I am not getting any error while creating record. But user is able to see all warehouse details. Data is not filtering in punchline.

    Hi Kartheek,

    Instead of the Operation for InsertUpdateDelete, you have to use Select or AllOperations.

    WIth InsertUpdateDelete, a user can see all records, but can't create new records, update or delete them. During the write validation, the user will get an error.
