Hey,

Im really confused on how to  add a button on command bar  using Ribbon Workbench, I have followed this tutorial,

https://ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/71374-1-getting-started-with-the-ribbon-workbench.

The buttons already on the command bar are Save as , New, Set as default, Refresh all , Universal search. I'm trying to add Run Report button.

Can anyone help? I'm really confused.

Thanks

RE: Add Run Report Button to command Bar in Dashboard

    Hello,

    You can simply :

    > create a custom solution

    > Add your entity there

    > If you are forming URL through js code need to create web resource first

    > Open Ribbon workbench from solutions/or button ( you need to download and import ribbon workbench solution first in your environment)

    > Select your entity

    > select button and drag and drop to the location where you want to add it and modify command with the URL or javascript function.

Are you facing any issue ??

    Thanks

RE: Add Run Report Button to command Bar in Dashboard

    Hi HIMBAP,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    1. I have created a custom solution called , "Ribbon".

2.Added Existing dashboard to it(Dashboard), Application Ribbon(Client Extension) and Activity(Entity).(TYPE)

3.Then I open "Ribbon" in  Ribbon Workbench.

I'm lost here as there are a lot of buttons in the command bar tab, but in the actual Dashboard command bar there is only  the 5 buttons.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

You don't need to bother those buttons those are system button and have their own set of rules for rendering, Just add your button there, you can follow our post : mahenderpal.wordpress.com/.../calling-java-script-on-click-of-command-button-ms-crm-2015-step-by-step

    Thanks

RE: Add Run Report Button to command Bar in Dashboard

    Hi HIMBAP,

Thanks for your help. I'm  stuck here ,

Select Entities and click on Add Existing button .

Instead of  entity I'm using Dashboard, when  I click on Add Existing I  choose "my Dashboard". Then Save and Publish.

When I open my demo solution in RibbonWorkbench.

    Error I get:

"Add at least one entity to your selected solution and open it again. The Ribbon Workbench loads the solution to determine which entities you wish to customise. When you publish, the same solution is edited and re-uploaded. Make sure you include the entities and related webresources such as images and javascript files in your solution

    "

    Can you help me ,please.

    Thanks.

RE: Add Run Report Button to command Bar in Dashboard

    Hi Chitra,

    When I  import the edited solution in a zip file , I get this error;

The solution file is invalid. The compressed file must contain the following files at its root: solution.xml, customizations.xml, and [Content_Types].xml. Customization files exported from previous versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM are not supported.

    Any idea , why?

    Thanks,

    Alan

Hi Chitrarasan,  Thank you for that, but when  I try to run the run reports from that button I get a second login pop up in IE 11?

Any idea what this might be?

    Thanks
