"You need to run Dynamics GP Utilities"

Hi,

I installed GP2016 on a server which contains GP2015.  This is a separate install.  GP Utilities was run, but when I login to GP, I keep receiving the message "You need to run GP Utilities".  I have give full control to the Everyone group on the GP folder and the Synchronize line in the dex.ini file is saying No.  I have also used the "Run as Administrator" option to launch both GP and Utilities.  I have found articles on this issue but I have not been able to resolve it.

Can anyone help ?

    Hi Tracy, Check the dynamics GP 2016 folder and see if any files remain with the extension of.cnk. If so that file has not ( installed properly) unchunked. You could delete it if not required, or investigate it further.

    Did you run GP Utilities for GP2016?

    If Yes, what are options you performed on Utilities Window?

    Did you create any Company or just trying to launch GP?

    Hello Tracy,

    When you launch GP Utilities, does it prompt to update a database and/or show you the 'Upgrade these companies?' window at all?

    If so, it may mean that it is seeing something such as a record that isn't at an updated version, such as a db_status value not being 0 (zero) in the DB_Upgrade table can cause this to occur.

    Do you get this issue on more than one install? If not, it may just be a corrupted dictionary file or something.

    You do installed GP2016 on which Login? Administrator?
