How to Create Follow Up Activity

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hi Team,

I want to create a process that create a Follow Up Activity Record.

as in my old CRM system I can create 1-N link to the Entity itself.

in the MS CRM i cannot add a link to entity "Activity", I guess it prohibited because it is not showing any button in header of the list, it only shows "More Action".

I know some of you ever face this issue, because this process is most likely exist in most Company.

how you guys solved this issue? any experience you can share?

Thanks in advance.

RE: How to Create Follow Up Activity

    Hi,

By default you will get activity association in all the business entities like account, contact, opportunity, lead etc , so you will get it under entity record Click on drop down after record name, you should get Activities option there

You can set workflow as well to create follow activity record when entity record is created

But in your custom entity you will only get this option, if you have selected Activity during entity creation.

How you are trying to create it ??

    Thanks

RE: How to Create Follow Up Activity

    Hi HIMBAP,

    thanks for reply.

the situation I have is like this.

I created an Visit Activity for today, and it already completed. and I want to create new Activity that related to this completed activity record.

so when i open this record, what i want is (in the Button Section) i will create one Button "Follow Up Activity" that has action to create new Activity record related to current opened Activity.

how can I do that? because I cannot add a 1:N link from Activity Entity to Activity Entity itself.

    Thanks.

RE: How to Create Follow Up Activity

    Hi,

Activity pointer won't allow you to create relationship, but you can setup relationship in individual entity for example between task to task or your custom activity type entity. So you can have button and write js record to create clone of that activity.

    Thanks

RE: How to Create Follow Up Activity

    Hi HIMBAP,

so it's not possible to create Follow Up Activity?

if you could understand what I need, then what could you suggest for me to do?

based on you reply, so I must create a follow up "Task" and not follow up "Activity"?

    Thanks

RE: How to Create Follow Up Activity

    Hello,

If you want to create a followup activity (And specially want to to see which followup activity created for which completed activity later point of time) you need to setup relationship between individual activity. For example whatever followup activity you are creating (task, phonecall, email) you can setup 1:n relationship between the same entity, like between task to task, email to email etc.

But you are just interested in creating follow activity, don't need to see which followup activity created for what completed activity, you can simply create button and can write JS code to read data from original completed activity and create new one.

Or you can setup a workflow to create another followup activity once earlier is completed.

Let us know if you required more information.

    Thanks
