I would like to know if there is away of getting the PO genorrtor take into account stock which is being held in more than one site, since we started GP we were only using the one site, but in the years we have growen as a company and have created new GP sites attached to different company locations, at the moment we are only able to run it on the orginal site that was created

By default, the PO Generator takes into account all sites, unless you are restricting it to a specific range of locations.

At the moment when we are testing the PO Gen, it is ordering per site. We want PO gen, to generate one purchase order for all sites for a single item.

You can setup PO Generator to order to a master site, under Purchasing > Setup > Purchase Order Processing and clicking on the Options button.

You can then specify which site you want to use as the main site for the order. I don't remember if the line items are consolidated when this option is selected, so you may need to also uncheck the option to "Create One Purchase Order Per Ship To Address" for the consolidation to work. Again, I am not sure as it's been a while since I've worked with the PO Generator.
