Is it possible to add Yammer to custom entities?

Tried searching online but didn't find anything helpful or that actually worked.  I'm using Yammer to replace Posts for our internal chat on Accounts Opps etc.  I have a few custom entities but they only have Activities and Notes.  Is there any way to enable the Yammer feed for custom entities so that we can use Yammer across all entities vs just the default few?

    I have enabled Yammer on a custom entity but admit that on another I had problems I didn't understand!

    On the one that worked, I did the following  .......

    In CRM settings, goto activity post configurations.

    Your custom entity records should show in here. If they don't use the refresh icon in the ribbon bar.

    When you  have found you entity you will see that in the status column it says "inactive". Select the entity and use the active ribbon option.

    After a pause you will get a message that you need to publish the entity.

    After you have published all, the yammer feed should now be present on the social pane of the custom activity.
