Commodity (HTS) Code Issues

While attempting to test setting up our HTS codes I ran into an issue creating a "duplicate" HTS code.
In our procurement hierarchy we have floor mats (HTS code 4016.91.0000) under "Bathroom/Floormats" and "Barware".

When I try to create the following category nodes in the commodity code hierarchy:
4016-Bar Mats 4016.91.0000
4016-Floor Mats 4016.91.0000

I get the following error message:

Cannot create or update a record in Category (EcoResCategory). Commodity code (Code): 4016.91.0000. The record already exists.

Is there a way to either?
  1. Assign a HTS code to multiple procurement hierarchy nodes?
  2. Create a duplicate HTC code in the commodity code hierarchy?

    Hi ,

Unfortunately I don't think you can. My suggestion for you is to use personalization and add a new picklist type field and then maintain the HTC codes there if you need this information for reporting purposes.

That is not the issue.  I have two procurement categories that need the same HTS code applied as pictured below.

Since you can't use the same "name" again I tried to create two categories in the HTS hierarchy with the same HTS code and receive the error.

    Hi,

So firstly, system does not allow for any category names to be reused. However, if my understanding of your question is correct, you're looking to attach comodity codes to a procurement category correct? If so, you will need to define two category hierarchies first. One for procurement category and the other for Commodity code.

Procurement category is where you'll enter the categories and then the commodity code hierarchy you can enter the HS codes. Next go to your procurement category and assign the HS codes.
