Dual Write setup issues - Power Platform/LCS

Good morning,

I've been given the task of setting up dual write between D365FO and CRM environments, which looks like it has already been attempted by someone else before me.

I'm working from Microsoft's online docs here - System requirements and prerequisites - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

When I action step 4(adding users to the Power Platform), I am unable to continue because the app registration for FO isn't shown, although the registration exists in Azure AD. I am assuming that there is an intermediary step which has been missed by whoever attempted to set this up before.

In addition to this, there is an error in LCS in the Power Platform Integration section:

Status: Dual-write application configuration failed. Please click on resume dual write application to try again.
Failure reason: Failed to fetch deployment error from outputXml.

If I resume, it fails again with the same error.

Is anyone able to provide me with any guidance on how to proceed please, or is this something that I should go to Microsoft support with?

I have the same question (0)

Hi Leah, thank you for your response.

Unfortunately the situation in the linked article is slightly different. The FO environment is already deployed and works correctly, I just cannot install the configuration for dual write on it.

I've raised a ticket with Microsoft and will post the solution here if they are able to assist.

    Hi Leah,

Unfortunately, we were not able to resolve this particular issue and instead set up dual write on an alternate environment.

Is this issue resolved? When i had this issue i checked couple of the license and i found out that the user is an environment administrator but dont have an D365UO license assigned to it. Also the power platform administrator and Dynamics 365 administrator
