How can I change my organization name?

Hello everyone,

I want to change the name of my organization. I have to change the real name and not just the display name.

is there a safe way to change my organization name in CRM on premise 2016 without losing any data or else?

Hi ...

if you want to change the name of the organization then you can change the database name from the sql...as u are using on premise...

Organization's display name we can change but for real name there is no supported way.

Hello,

I found a solution for this which actually worked without any problems.

Referencing to the following link I just deleted my organization and made a new import of it.

Afterwards you will be asked for a new organization name and you can connect it with your existing database.

Hi maurice,

I have gone through earlier this link but thought its changing the display name but now came to know yes we can change db name after delete & re-import org.

To change the organization Name:-

Congrats, that's no return for this...

MS: you have to delete the org and recreate it.

CRM hacker: do anything at DB level as long as it don't break.

CRM practitioner: disable the org, backup and rename the db, delete the org, reimport te org.

Backup the db , solutions etc , delete the db and create a new one. Unfortunately, there is no way you can rename the organization.

1- right click on the organization and disable it

2-delete the organization

3-import it, rename during the import (display name and unique Database Name)

Please make sure you that you back up both databases before (crm and config DBs)
